Privacy Policy

Taskbat is an accountability service that reminds you about your own tasks by text message, phone call, and email, and — only when you set it up — notifies an accountability partner you chose. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. The short version: your tasks are yours, we contact only the people you tell us to, and we never sell your data.

What we collect

Account information — your name, mobile number, timezone, and email if you provide one.
Task content — the tasks, deadlines, and stakes you tell Taskbat, whether typed, texted, or spoken on a call.
Call and message content — transcripts of your calls with Taskbat and the text messages you exchange with it, which are how the service understands your tasks.
Accountability partner details — the name and contact information of any partner you choose to add.
Usage records — logs of reminders sent, escalation steps taken, and basic technical data needed to run the service.

How we use it

To send you the reminders, texts, calls, and reports you signed up for.
To extract tasks and deadlines from what you say and write, and to draft reminder messages. This processing uses AI services (see below). We do not use your content to train AI models.
To notify your accountability partner — only if you configured that escalation, and only with outcome-level information (that a task you named wasn't completed), never your other tasks or details.
To send weekly progress summaries you've enabled.
To operate, secure, and improve the service, and to bill you when paid plans apply.

Consent to calls and texts

By signing up you consent to receive automated text messages and automated phone calls — including calls using an artificial or prerecorded voice — from Taskbat at the number you provide, about your own reminders. Message and data rates may apply. You can stop at any time: reply STOP to any text, say so on any call, or contact us. Quiet hours are respected by default.

Service providers

We use a small number of service providers to run Taskbat, each receiving only what's needed for their function: a messaging carrier (text delivery), a telephony platform (voice calls), an AI language-model provider (task extraction and message drafting), an email delivery service, and a cloud hosting provider. We don't sell or rent your personal information to anyone, and we don't share it with third parties for their own marketing. Your accountability partner

If you add a partner, you're telling us you have their okay to be contacted for this purpose. Partners receive only the escalations and summaries you configured, and they can opt out of messages at any time by replying STOP.

Retention and deletion

We keep your information while your account is active. You can ask us to delete your account and associated data at any time by emailing bat@taskbat.com, and we'll complete the deletion within 30 days, except records we're legally required to keep.

Your rights

Depending on where you live (including California and the EU/UK), you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your personal information, and to object to certain processing. Email bat@taskbat.com and we'll honor these requests.

Security

Data is encrypted in transit, access is restricted, and credentials are stored separately from content. No online service can guarantee perfect security, but we take protecting your information seriously.

Children and family accounts

Taskbat is not for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their information — family accounts may not add them even with consent. Teens 13–17 may use Taskbat only through a family account created by their parent or legal guardian: the parent attests to their authority and consents to the automated calls and texts, and the teen must also personally agree by replying YES to a single invitation message before any reminders are ever sent. Family members' tasks are visible in summary (name and open-task count) to the account owner; message content rules keep everything the bat says appropriate for young users.

Changes

If we make material changes to this policy, we'll post the update here and change the effective date above. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated policy.
